| Using nontoxic
underglazes, painters draw, paint, stamp or stencil on designs
in about 1 1/2 -2 hours. We dip pieces in a clear
overglaze and fire them in our kilns for pick-up in about a
week. If you're only in Saratoga for a short visit, pieces can
be safely mailed at a reasonable charge.
The cost of a visit to our studio is simple. There is a Studio
Fee charged to each painter: $6 for kids 10 years and under
and $8 for ages 10 and up. This includes the paints,
instructions and firing of up to 2 items painted in one
sitting. The price of your piece('s) is added. Most pieces are
under $15, and the most expensive items are under $45. If you
need to come back and finish a design, a studio fee will be
charged for each visit. You can stay as long as you like, and
use as many colors as you like.
We are very kid-friendly and encourage families to come and
enjoy a painting experience together. If multiple kids share a
painting project for a parent or grandparent, a maximum of 1
1/2 fees will be charged depending on the complexity of the
project. There is no charge for adults to help a child with
painting.
Ladies Nite is every Thursday beginning at 4 pm and lasting
until at least 9 pm. All painters pay only a $6 studio fee
which includes the painting and firing of up to 2 items. (Kids
and men are welcome too!) Wine and snacks are permitted and
reservations are suggested.
Creative Sparks
also offers mosaics! We have forms for plaques, frames,
mirrors and more. We have lots of mosaic glass and tiles so
you can create your own masterpiece using the age old art of
mosaic design. Grouting your finished piece is done at home
the next day with our grout kits. It's easy and beautiful.
You can also purchase mosaic glass by the pound to cover
projects at home. Don't throw out that old chair or table...
